Stick people/stick snakes

Seeing familiar objects or patterns in otherwise random or unrelated objects or patterns is called pereidolia, The ability to experience pereidolia is more developed in some people and less in others.  As a tree and shrub pruning specialist I often come across stick people and stick snakes. Where, when and with what species of wood my pruners interact will dictate species, sex and posture. The artist’s eye comes in when deciding where to cut. When pruning Corkscrew Willow and Harry Lauder Walking Stick, it’s snakes that catch my eye. The phobias about snakes are alive and well especially here in the Southeast. My painted wooden snakes are powerful, yet friendly protectors.
