Make it stand out

Nervous leather

Nervous in the Closet

My boots are nervous in the closet
the soles are worn
holding a written history
of rocks and trails
the uppers dried and torn
laces tied and retied
by the thousand
But…they still fit
so comfy
easy on my toes.
At a moments notice
ready, set, go
let’s go for a walk
Now, tomorrow next week
Here I am today
Never to stray too far off the trail
Perhaps.
My boots are nervous in the closet.
